Maricopa County Attracting More Migrants Than Any Other Place In The US!
A few months ago we've blogged about a trend of Californians migrating to Arizona to escape the higher and increasing taxes in the former for a more comfortable and affordable lifestyle in the latter state. Now a recent report by RentCafe has revealed the Arizona county with the most number of immigrants in the last five years.
The report had Maricopa County not only coming out as top Arizona county when it comes to the highest number of new residents but also holding the distinction as the top US county with the highest net migration! With its relatively low cost of living backed by affordable housing, employment opportunities and great climate, Maricopa County earned the sweet spot by attracting 221,000 immigrants between 2012 and 2017.
Conversely, Los Angeles County and Santa Clara County, both in California, were top 10 counties with the most number of people leaving in the same five year period, with the middle of 2016 and 2017 alone showing a net loss of over 138,000 people for the state.
Now it's not just Californians that are considering moving into Arizona but also homebuyers from Seattle and Denver, with almost 34 percent of out-of-state prospects notably from the said places. Whether you're from out of state (or event from another county in Arizona!) thinking of moving to another place offering more value with much more affordable housing and/or an easier lifestyle, you might consider looking into the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, specifically Maricopa County. And don't just go off on your own looking for your next home or in Maricopa County... or go with any other realtor who might give you the run around.
