A Mesa, Arizona based orthopedic surgeon, Carl Dain Allred possesses 18 years of experience in Sports Medicine and currently serves as a Team Physician for the Phoenix Suns and Tempe Union High School District. Dr. Allred's extensive experience includes arthroscopy and surgery of the shoulder, knee and ankle with a special interest in the treatment of athletic injuries ranging from shoulder and patellar dislocations, shoulder separations, rotator cuff and ACL tears as well as meniscus, cartilage and ankle ligament injuries.
With a focus on active lifestyle, performance enhancement and injury prevention, Dr. Allred's specialization also includes conditioning, training and fitness, athletic performance and the impact of dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, and nutrition on performance and health. The accomplished and renowned surgeon aims to provide appropriate care for all structures of the musculoskeletal system directly affected by participation in sporting activity.
Dr. Allred completed his graduation from Boston University School Of Medicine in 2001 and is also affiliated with hospitals like Mountain Vista Medical Center, LP. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and board-certified by the Arizona Medical Board, Colorado Medical Board and American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
As Chief of Sports Medicine for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Banner University Medical Group, he provided orthopaedic and sports medicine services as the Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for University of Arizona Athletics, and Team Physician for American Hockey League’s Tucson Roadrunners. He served as Head Team Physician for the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Intercollegiate Athletics, and Team Physician for the U.S. Olympic Committee, the World Military Games, Rochester Rhinos professional soccer team, and American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans.
In addition, he was the Assistant Team Physician for numerous professional sports teams like the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and New England Revolution.
He has also held teaching roles as faculty, lecturer, moderator and instructor to orthopedic peers, both national and abroad. This nationally-published surgeon adds the 2017 Traveling Fellow award from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine to his many awards and recognitions.
