And out of a list made up of the 125 most populous metro areas in the U.S., Phoenix leapt from last year's 44th place to this year's 19th Best Place To Live in the USA.

In addition to a covetable combination of a thriving job market, relatively low cost of living and of course, great weather, the magazine reports that an influx of new residents helped Phoenix enter this year's Top 20.

While the state is a top pick for retirees, young people flock to the Greater Phoenix area to study in Arizona State University. A booming tourism industry also help locals save on taxes with the visitor spending it generates. And when compared to coastal areas, living in "The Valley of The Sun" is much more affordable.
