Come Join The 2019 Falcon Field Airport OPEN HOUSE On March 30!
Unique
aircraft, classic cars, model railroads and more are in store for you,
family and friends at the annual Open House of the City of Mesa’s Falcon
Field Airport on March 30, Saturday at 9AM to 3PM!
Presented by
Semper Fi Heating & Cooling and co-sponsored with Opus/The Opus
Group and Firehouse Subs, this year's event features:
-Unique
aircrafts like The Boeing Company's AH-64E Apache attack helicopter, MD
Helicopters aircraft, the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation’s 1967 AH-1F
Cobra helicopter, vintage warbirds, experimental aircraft and more!
-Flight simulator, helicopter and vintage warbird rides (available for purchase)
-Impala Bob’s Classic Car Show (with Aviation Explorer Post 352 as its beneficiary)
-Informational displays courtesy of area aviation education programs, local businesses and the City of Mesa representatives
-Model steam locomotive on an extensive layout by the Arizona Big Train Operators
-A variety of kids’ activities ranging from inflatables, aviation-themed crafts, photo booth, face painting and balloon animals
-Food trucks, family-friendly music and aircraft fly-overs
The
Open House will be held at Falcon Field Park, 4636 East Fighter Aces
Drive (north of McKellips Road between Greenfield and Higley roads).
Free general and disabled parking is available at the airport entrance
on the north side of McKellips Road east of Greenfield Road. Additional
free parking with shuttles to the event site also will be available on
the west side of Higley Road north of McKellips Road.

In
addition, the Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum (AZCAF) will have
expanded hours of 9AM to 4PM on March 30 to accommodate the Southwest
Military Transport Show highlighting military vehicle & static
aircraft displays, collectibles, vehicle parts, plastic model contest,
and swap meet. Get to learn too about Falcon Field’s origin as a World
War II pilot training base & view historic military aircraft &
exhibits at the museum. A discounted admission of $5/person or
$10/family of four on March 30 covers both the museum and Southwest
Military Transport Show.
The Open House also includes a
celebration of public safety by the 100 Club of Arizona whose mission is
to provide financial assistance to the families of first responders who
are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty. The club also aims
to to enhance first responders' safety and welfare by providing
resources. Sponsored by the Firehouse Subs, a picnic pavilion courtesy
will be available for 100 Club members and families. The public is
welcomed to visit the pavilion to learn about the 100 Club, chat with
its representatives or make a donate toward the club's mission.
Speaking of donations, canned food donations will also be accepted at the Open House for the United Food Bank.
