Arizona Ranks 4th Best US State For Economic Momentum
With the addition of more than 300,000 jobs since 2015, growth felt on personal income levels as well as a manufacturing boom, Arizona ranked fourth-best US state for economic momentum, according to the latest State Policy Report.
The report ranks states based on personal income, employment and population growth with Arizona placing in the top five for all three categories. Additionally, Arizona is one of only 17 states exceeding the national average for economic momentum in the report.
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey remarked that “This is a testament to a talented workforce, strong leaders, innovative entrepreneurs and business-friendly policies that continue to drive Arizona’s economic momentum.” Gov. Ducey has notably taken steps to make it easier to find work in the state which includes signing legislation to recognize occupational licenses for new residents, the first state in the country to do so.
Arizona's strong economic momentum is very much evident in its tech sector, too. An Arizona Technology Council report noted that the state's tech sector is growing 40 percent faster than the U.S. overall with 2,600 technology jobs added since the start of 2019, enjoying a 5.1 percent wage growth with an average annual salary of over $80,000.
Aside from the creation of new jobs, Arizona has also invested in its K-12 public education, public safety, roads and bridges.
