Arizona In U-Haul And move.org's Top 10 List Of States Attracting New Residents!
Lower cost of living, great weather and outdoor activities- these are just a few of the things that attract people from other states to move into Arizona. And move they did in 2020, placing Arizona in the top 10 of two notable lists keeping track of US states people are migrating to!
A new survey by move.org revealed that 20% of Americans moved in 2020. Nearly half of those moves were within the same city but for those who moved to another state, Arizona ranked the 7th most popular state to move into during the pandemic according to move.org.
The same large influx of new residents also placed the Grand Canyon state high on another list. Jumping all the way from 20th place in 2019, Arizona ranked 5th in U-Haul's migration growth list.
U-haul's rankings is based on how many more people came into a particular state using their trucks over those departing during the calendar year, with more than 2 million people renting one-way trucks each year from the company.
Of course, U-Haul migration growth data do not directly tie in to population or economic growth, rather serving as a gauge on how well cities and states are attracting and maintaining residents. With a massive network of over 22,000 truck- and trailer-sharing locations covering all 50 US states and 10 Canadian provinces, U-Haul is considered an authority on migration trends with the comprehensive overview they provide as to where people are moving.
